期待奥运 今天是2008年2月8日，离奥运会开幕只剩下6个月整的时间了！ 还记得01年宣布中国获得08年奥运会举办权的那个夏天. 当时大家还特地在一起庆祝了这个值得纪念的时刻. 心里无限憧憬能去北京看奥运。没想到快7年的时光一晃就过去了。 去年6月，也和所有关注奥运的朋友一样参加了第一轮的网上抽签活动。之后就没了消息。一直到9月的一天，身在 MIT 的我忽然接到了一条自己中国信用卡被扣款的消息。满心狐疑地打电话去询问，才得知自己居然中了奥运会门票若干。又打电话去奥运票务热线查询，却被告知尚不能告诉我到底中了啥门票，得过一阵子再去问。于是，这过一阵子就一直过到了现在，呵呵。 昨天，本来想再查一下奥运票务热线的电话的，却猛然发现自己的帐号里已经有了中奖门票的信息： 8.19，20:00-23:30，女子排球1/4决赛，首都体育馆 8.23，18:00-20:15，艺术体操个人全能决赛，北京工业大学体育馆 虽然很多偶更热衷的项目，比如说跳水，没有中到，还是觉得运气不错了。 接下来，就祈祷自己今年夏天最好能去北京做个项目呀，或者直接去做志愿者吧，有人响应吗？ ========= I remembered in 2001 when it was announced that China would host the summer Olympics in 2008. We celebrated that moment and I looked forward to seeing the Olympics in China. Time has gone by so fast in the last seven years. I made a bid for tickets last June and in September they debited my account. I checked the Olympic ticketing hotline yesterday and discovered I have tickets for: 8.19,20:00-23:30, Women's Volleyball 1 / 4 finals Capital Gymnasium. 8.23,18:00-20:15, artistic gymnastics individual all-round final, Beijing University of Technology Gymnasium. I wanted to get some tickets for the diving events but didn't get them. Looking forward to being in Beijing this summer. Will I see you there? VICKY |

I also Remember standing in "Trafalgar Square" in London as the Olympic decision was made for the UK to host the 2012 Olympics, It was exciting and happy feeling, however this soon changed within 20 hours of this announcement as Terrorists struck on the Bus and london underground killing 53 people this caused the nation to reflect on their own personal security. We are a strong people and never let something like this scare us for too long. Terrorists can kill our bodies but they can NEVER kill our democracy and freedom for speach.
