work stuff and things


I hear many people say, the people won't do the work they are suppose to do.. I just don't get that concept in that way, to accept it without investigating the whys and the how's .

I think, as I've experienced before, the people will do the work but as with all human beings, they must be communicated with.
General function is general function and its part of the script, but in and within the details, it also involves the individual connection with quality performance.
This mandates a proper set of checks and balances, which coordinate to achieve the objective of over all performance.

Step by step, but one has to be able to be a multi tasking supervisor to get the results to show improvements.
As well as one understand the procedures of job performance, one must understand the procedure of discipline, be nice, be honest and be up front with reality, and call it with fairness, and address each matter without showing personal bias unto individual, but reward performance and reprimand what is non performance,...
coach where its needed, but lead with the understanding of a follower.. and the operation can be improved.

of the 73 facilities, It is my job, to insure the on site facility supervisor, must know the level of quality as if it's simply second nature to meet the highest standard. Our task is to insure the on site facility head, not only address the needs, but execute them with an objective to continually maintain and improve their upkeep.

Disparities I've noted in and at various facilities based on where they are located, is going to change. Each, will get what is promised to them, and that is the quality of standard which is uniform across the system.

A variety of changes are not only necessary but very much vital to progress in this area of responsibility.

I thought first to lay back and just follow the existing script, until I am planted firmly in the position, but that is not the way to go, It's less stress to simply start it like I want it, rather than start out less, and try to change it later.
It's important to establish the quality standards up front, and there is no confusion to follow.
The existing script is not achieving it's objective, so.. If I'm responsible, then I will be responsible, and we will achieve improvements across the board.
If I do any less, it means I fail the team I supervise, I fail the kids and I fail the system, as well as I allow a diminished cloud to hover over the entire operation.

It simply cannot be; - My job is to maintain and improve, in all areas, and that is the objective that will be pursued. and it certainly include in the uppermost, to uplift the morality of the employee pools, and insure they are clear on the mission and its objective.

I can already see the frustration in the peoples faces, at their current program, and it is purely a moral killer, but what I must let them know, is I support them, but I also support the on site supervisor, and will address the issues that challenge his authority in a negative manner. so we keep everything on the same page. The supervisor will respect each worker, and each worker will respect the supervisor, and each other.
that is achieved, by helping people learn to improve personal pride in their jobs, and that takes sharing the time to communicate, and insure everyone is on board with the Mission Statement.

It would be good, if each person, who is seeking a job, any place, inquire about the companies mission statement. take it to heart, and embrace it with the passion you claim to deliver in your performance.

What I find most distressing is the executive, who want to be patronized, and soft talked, and told all is well when its not, that is an executive who is not willing to face the work that needs to be engaged, which is, to provide engaging support. Become the support apparatus of the managers who engage to achieve the objective.

America companies fail, because they have become an executive branch that wants more to be worshiped than worked with, they want to ride the title, rather than uphold the responsibilities that denote the title.
and they turn quickly anguished and shut down, when candor comes fore front to address the needs within the operation.
Sadly, this is the moral killer of the management, and it simply trickles down.

what results in some camps is "micro managing", which defeats the process, because it does not convey what it thinks, it become often time 'obstructive".

Recently, I see a situation where the division of responsibility, is so confusing, the people being supervised, don't know who to listen to.

I don't know who devised the system, but it is total mess, and each person is quick to say what the people won't do, some have unethical arrangement, that violate every faction of professional demeanor, especially in and within such a big organization. When instruction is issue, another has the position to negate it, and then turn and complain about what is not done. but they don't even see their stand of impeding the process, with their pursuit of a buddy relationship, nor how it interferes with the jobs at hand.

I'm addressing it, by "routing" - I copy in the part who is in the way, as well as the person who is directly responsible, and I request a sign off by both, for satisfactory or un-satisfactory completion.

Now if they get in the way and cause the work not to be done, then they are facing being responsible, because I got their signature of sign off.

The past few weeks have been challenging, because of this very fact. but after finding over and over, the situation of a self defeating circle, I know the only way to make it change is to get sign offs. Now if the person negates an instruction to complete some work, then they buy it as their new baby, and therefore they cant complain, without complaining about themselves.

I have no idea how this system got so confounded, but the results of it being so, has so many things out of balance and below standards.

It's sad that people don't understand it cost more to repair something than it does to maintain it in quality condition.
