Three possible states of mind!

In life there are three possible states of mind. The first is when you see mountains as mountains and water as water. The second is vice versa. The third is to see that mountains are also still mountains and water is also still water after passing through the second state.

Initially, ones life is very pure and flawless. When people start to experience and understand the world around them, everything feels fresh, new and rosy. What one's eyes have witnessed is taken for granted as definite, true and flawless. If someone else explains that "this is a mountain", then they know that this is the definition of a mountain, without questioning. Its the same way for them about water.

As a person grows older, they accumulate life experience and they begin to see the many problems and faults in the reasoning of others and in the world around them. Human affairs are very complex. People often confuse right and wrong. Amoral and immoral people may be given free rein to do as they please in the world and life for people with strong morals might be difficult. A good person might not always get what they deserve and an evil person might get more than they deserve. This causes people to enter the second state of mind.

People in this period are indignant, complaining, questioning of everything, stressed, complex and cynical. They cannot believe anything easily. People in this second state of mind see the mountain with a tinge of emotion and the water with sighs. They like to use the ancients to mock modernists and make oblique accusations. A mountain certainly is not a true mountain and the water is also not pure water. People's subjective consciousness controls them all. If a person stays in this period, their life will be difficult. These kind of people will probably be emulative or assertive. They like to compare themselves with others to emulate how they behave in order to fit in. They always think too much about how to get their own needs met and never know what it is like to be satisfied.

excellent... understanding is always a marvelous many things... if and as it helps us grow, to learn to share, and accept the realism of self, and others alike. we may not be able to change each other, but we can embrace teaching and learning, to further the magnificence of understanding, within and thorough understanding. such a great thing, communicating is, when and as we utilize it for sharing and growth...
